بررسی شاخص DMFT/dmft و ارتباط آن با توده بدنی کودکان در گروه های سنی 3 تا 15 ساله

مقدمه : بیماری های دهان، به ویژه پوسیدگی های دندانی، هنوز هم در اکثر کشورهای در حال توسعه شیوع دارد. شاخص DMFT /dmft(دندان پوسیده، از دست رفته، پر شده) برای ثبت پوسیدگی در دندانهای شیری/ دائمی استفاده میشود. شاخص توده بدنی یک اندازه گیری آنتروپومتریک است که نسبت وزن را به قد اندازه گیری می کند. مصرف بیش از حدکربوهیدراتها بر پوسیدگی دندان و اضافه وزن و چاقی میتواند تاثیر داشته باشد. بنابراین مطالعه حاضر به بررسی رابطه بین توده بدنی و پوسیدگی دندانی در کودکان 3 تا 15 ساله می پردازد. مواد و روش ها : در این مطالعه تحلیلی – توصیفی 171 کودک 15-3 سال که به مرکز تحقیقات گوارش و کبد شهرستان اردبیل مراجعه کرده بودند به صورت تصادفی انتخاب و برای تعیین شاخص DMFT /dmftو شاخص ) BMIوزن(کیلوگرم) تقسیم بر مجذور قد به متر) مورد معاینه قرار گرفتند. سپس دادها با روش آنالیز واریانس یکطرفه مورد تجزیه و تحلیل قرار گرفت. یافته ها : بر اساسBMI ، 34/5 درصد کودکان نرمال، 3/5درصد اضافه وزن و 62 درصد کم وزن بودند. بین DMFT /dmft و BMI هیج رابطه ی معناداری وجود نداشت. ( 0/05<p). بین جنس و DMFT ارتباط معناداری وجود داشت.به طوریکه دختران DMFT بالایی داشتند( 0/01=p) از لحاظ بهداشت دهانی، 76/4 درصد از کودکان حداقل یکبار در طول شبانه روز مسواک می زدند.27 درصد کودکان از نخ دندان استفاده میکردند. بین استفاده از مسواک و نخ دندان و dmft رابطه معکوسی وجودداشت( 0/005=p) نتیجه گیری : نتایج این مطالعه هیچ ارتباطی بین پوسیدگی دندان و BMI در کودکان 15-3 ساله اردبیل نشان نداد.

Evaluation of DMFT/dmft index and its relationship with body mass in children of 3-15 years old

English Abstract

Introduction: Oral disease,especially tooth decay,it is still prevalent in most developing countries. the DMFT/dmft index (decayed, missing, filled teeth) is used to record caries in in deciduous / permanent teeth. Body mass index is an anthropometric measurement that measures the ratio of weight to height.Excessive consumption of carbohydratesis can affect tooth decay and overweight and obesity.Therefore, the present study investigates the relationship between body mass and tooth decay in chidren 3-15 years old. Materials and methods : In this descriptive-analytical study,171 children 3-15 years old who referred to Ardabil Gastroenterology Research Center were selected randomly and examined for dmft / DMFT index and BMI index (weight-kg divided by height in meters).Then data was analyzed by one-way ANOVA. Result: Based on BMI , 34.5% of children were normal , 3.5% were overweight , and 62% were underweight . There is no significant relationship between DMFT/dmft and BMI(p>0.05). There was a significant relationship between gender and DMFT so tha the girls had high DMFT(p=0.01). In terms of oral hygiene, 76.4% of children brushed at least once a day.27 percent of children used dental floss .There was an inverse relationship between brushing and flossing and dmft (p=0.005). Coclusion: The results of this study support no association between dental caries and BMI among 3-15 years old children in Ardabil
