The Effect Different Level of Altitude on Lung Function in Male Athletes

خلاصه انگلیسی

Both hypoxia and hyperorexia can change Lung Function in Different Level of Altitude objective of this study was to investigation the effect different level of altitude on lung function in male athletes.F0r this aim fifteen athletes, male (age; 21.66±4.5yr), (weight;68.88±2.11kg), (height;173.3± 2cm) were randomly selected to this study on spirometric parameters in Base line (1400m above sea level), after ascending at 3600 m above sea, sea level, and 25 meter under sea level. This study was performed in summer 2008 at savalan Mountain and astara city in Iran. Respiratory function was assessed in participants before ascending at baseline (1400 meter) and after ascending at 3600 meter in savalan Mount and after descent sea level and under sea level with a Spirolab II. Spirometric parameters changes were compared using ANOVA for repeated measure whit LSD statistical analysis computations were performed by spss 16 and p≤0.05 was considered significant.The results showed that forced vital capacity (FVC) was significantly decreased with increasing altitude from baseline level (P<0.05). Forced expiratory volume in 1 second were not significantly different between all level of altitude and maximal midexpiratory flow rate (FEF 25-75%) were significantly decreased with decreasing altitude (P=0.001).
