Nursing developments in Iran

Backgrand: This statement that nursing is achievement of modernity in Iran, can be seriously questioned.Several reports in the documents show that"nurses " as "Bymardar" at government hospitals and patient care centers as the name "Daroshafa" cared of patients from several years ago. However, it is certain that nursing in hospitals is not professional. modern nursing begins in Iran while large areas of the country has socioal and political development. War, famine and drought in Iran have created a crisis situation and spread of disease and there is a great need for health care services in the country, especially in the north west and north of the country. This requirements was outside of the power of health care system of country therfore this leading to action various groups, including religious groups and foreign military forces in health care system. The entry of foreign nurses in hospitals that foreigners from European and American countries had established, have an important role in development of modern nursing in Iran matherials and methods: This study is a review article, were developed from search of library resources, and Internet articles . Conclusion: the creating of "modern nursing" in Iran, is a multi-factor phenomenon at a historical conjuncture. According to the rapid and increasingly development of medical sciences and nursing in different countries and the need to use the latest findings and scientific content for the developing countries in the field of quality of health care it should be noted to improve staff training nurses and their job demands.
